How does it compare to the Yahoo setsuden API?

The Yahoo! Japan API will be discontinued on September 30th 2016. If you were using it, no worries, the denryoku API will provide all the featues you needed.

How does the prediction work?

Prediction is based on past capacity and demand data as well as past and predicted weather conditions which impact both the demand (air conditionning, heating) and supply from renewables (wind power, solar power).
